OUR PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
With over fifteen years of extensive experience in early-stage project development and strategic partnerships, we guide the process from initial concept to the final investment decision (FID), ensuring the seamless progression of floating offshore wind projects while maximizing value through premium divestment ahead of construction.
STAGE 1. IDENTIFY MARKET POTENTIAL AND INVEST
With our deep industry expertise we identify early-stage development projects with the potential to deliver good risk-adjusted returns. Investing in early stages is less capital-intensive and less competitive as major industrial players enter later in the development phase.
STAGE 2. PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
Our expertise is in leading the development process during the initial years of a project, usually the first 2-8 years. During this period, we build valuable relations with partners and local stakeholders and prepare all permits needed to deploy the construction of the wind farms.
STAGE 3. DIVESTMENT
We gradually divest our ownership stakes in development projects before they move into a more capital-intensive phase. This means that during the development process, until the final investment decision (FID), before construction, our ownership in the projects is divested at a premium. Through established contacts and ongoing dialogues, Hexicon is well-positioned to optimize returns on invested capital.
